What's GEOSTUDIO

GeoStudio offers a range of numerical analysis tools to simulate conditions above and below the ground surface. GeoStudio can be used to model natural terrain and rock slopes, groundwater flow systems for geotechnical applications, open-pit excavations and mining, drainage systems, earth dams and embankments, reinforced earth structures, tailings storage facilities, and more.

GEOSTUDIO 2D

GeoStudio 2D offers the fundamental ability to perform limit equilibrium slope stability analyses using SLOPE/W for soil and rock. GeoStudio 2D offers a comprehensive list of features, including:

  • Rigorous formulation of limit equilibrium
  • Thirteen methods of analysis, including Morgenstern-Price and Spencer
  • Various slip surface search techniques including Entry-Exit, Grid and Ray, and Cuckoo

GeoStudio 2D Advanced offers all the essential features of the GeoStudio 2D level, while also introducing the ability to simulate steady-state and transient groundwater flow in both saturated and unsaturated soils and rocks using SEEP/W. Additional features offered in GeoStudio 2D Advanced include:

  • Complete saturated-unsaturated formulation for steady-state or transient groundwater flow
  • Seamless integration of finite element pore water pressure with slope stability analysis for both steady-state and transient problems.
  • Geometry options include 2D cross sections, 2D axisymmetric, and 1D geometries

GeoStudio 2D Ultimate expands the capabilities of the GeoStudio 2D Advanced level with features to tackle the most challenging geotechnical projects. It includes capabilities for analyzing static and dynamic stress and deformation within soil or rock using SIGMA/W and QUAKE/W, including coupled consolidation and finite element stress stability, and the ability to use FE results in SLOPE/W.

GEOSTUDIO 3D FLOW

GeoStudio 3D Flow includes AIR3D, TEMP3D, CTRAN 3D, and SEEP3D, and provides the same core functionality as GeoStudio 2D Flow; however, it enables comprehensive evaluation of geoenvironmental projects where 3D effects are important.
