Boat analysis and design software
Category/NAUTICAL DESIGN AND ANALYSIS
Maxsurf is naval architecture software ideal for boat design. Maxsurf includes features for hull modeling, stability, motion and resistance prediction, structural modeling, structural analysis, and export for vessel details. Maxsurf operates from a single parametric 3D model to ensure seamless communication and coordination across the various projects involved.
Ensure compliance with international stability criteria and meet vessel performance requirements with integrated analysis tools. Perform a range of analyses, including intact and damaged stability, drag and motion prediction, and structural analysis.
Create complex 3D hull shapes for any type of vessel using wizards and interactive drawing tools. Systematically explore design alternatives by making measured changes to models with easy-to-use tools. Apply transformations to increase productivity in the initial hull design process.
Perform faster hull form variation and analysis with simultaneous team modeling on a common 3D parametric model. Easily visualize and evaluate design alternatives within a consistent graphical environment with seamless data flow.
MAXSURF applications operate from a single geometry file, simplifying the design process by eliminating the need to create geometry files in different formats for downstream analysis programs. Hull surface variations flow parametrically into hull meshes for subdivision, resistance and motion, and structural part definition.
MAXSURF is optimized to help naval architects create high-quality hull surfaces that are unobtrusive and can be used for all other analysis and CAD/CAM functions.
Surface trimming in MAXSURF is a simple point-and-click process. MAXSURF trimming is completely dynamic, allowing you to modify trimmed surfaces and have the trimmed parts automatically update.
MAXSURF includes analysis capabilities such as intact and damage stability, longitudinal strength, structural analysis and design, drag prediction, wake calculation, motion prediction, and a navigation VPP.
MAXSURF’s consistent graphical interface is easy to learn and use. Each model shares a common, intuitive interface with high-quality rendering and animations to visualize analysis results.
MAXSURF is based on industry-standard NURB surface modeling. It reads and writes DGN, 3DM, IGES, and DXF files, enabling seamless data transfer with MicroStation, Rhino, AutoCAD, ShipConstructor, and SolidWorks. It also features copy and paste to and from Microsoft Excel and a full automation interface, compatible with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word, allowing you to use macros to control MAXSURF for optimization studies or customized calculations and reports.
